We are a warm and friendly group of women from all walks of life who enjoy their time together from 7.30pm on the third Tuesday of each month. Members come from several surrounding villages and a spokesperson from each village keeps members up-to-date on all local happenings.
We also have regular friendly skittles evenings (contact Jean Meyrick on 01823 433929) and a monthly ‘Drop-in-Diner’ where any ladies are welcome to join us for lunch or dinner at a variety of reasonably priced restaurants.
New members are always welcome, so do come along for a ‘taster’ visit at any time.
For details of our next speaker, please keep an eye on this page.

COMBE FLOREY ART CIRCLE
Combe Florey Art Circle was formed in March 1985 at the house of one of the founder members. As interest grew, the venue was changed to the Village Hall where members still meet on Monday mornings between September and May.
The Art Circle is well known locally for its exhibitions and the high standard of work displayed. Exhibitions are held biannually, the next one is scheduled for the Spring Bank Holiday weekend 2018. To date, sixteen exhibitions have been held and almost £6,000 has been raised for local charities including St Margaret’s Hospice, Help for Heroes, Friends of Deane Barton Community Hospital and Combe Florey Village Hall.
Membership is open to all, irrespective of chosen media or skill level. Beginners are particularly welcome and would benefit from the depth of experience of the more established members.
Anyone interested should contact:

COMBE FLOREY BOWLS CLUB
Combe Florey Bowls Club specialises in Short Mat Bowls and meets in the Village Hall on Thursday evenings. The club was formed in July 1987 at an inaugural meeting attended by around forty interested people.
Subscriptions, donations, fund raising and grants of £250.00 from the Sports Council and £200.00 from Taunton Deane Council provided the finance to purchase the first mat and equipment. The mat remained in use until 2002 when a new mat was purchased and a single storage/handling unit to store the mat at a cost of £1000.00. These items were purchased with the aid of grants from Taunton Deane Council of £250.00, £200.00 from Somerset County Council Community Chest and £50.00 from Combe Florey Parish Council, the balance found from club funds.
The focus is on friendly rivalry and the games are accompanied with much good-natured banter! Matches have previously been held between local clubs and a number of social events are held each year both in the Village Hall and at local hostelries.
The Club currently has eleven members and would like to increase this number to ensure its long term survival. Membership is open to all.
